  22.           A BBBB format _a_r_t_i_c_l_e consists of a series of headers and then
  23.           the body.  A header line is defined (approximately) as a
  24.           line at the start of the article or immediately following a
  25.           header line with a capital letter as the first character and
  26.           a colon immediately following the first word, of
  27.           alphanumerics and dashes, on the line (a specialisation of
  28.           RFC 822 format).  Continued headers are as per RFC 822.
  29.           Unrecognized headers are ignored.  News is stored in the
  30.           same format transmitted, see ``Standard for the Interchange
  31.           of USENET Messages'' (RFC 1036 nee 850) for a full

  150.           The _f_l_a_g_s are a set of letters describing how the article
  151.           should be transmitted.  Valid flags include ffff (interpret
  152.           _t_r_a_n_s_m_i_s_s_i_o_n _c_o_m_m_a_n_d as a file name and write the name and
  153.           size in bytes of each article on the end of it), FFFF (like ffff
  154.           but omit the size), IIII (like FFFF but write Message-ID:s instead
  155.           of filenames), nnnn (like FFFF but write a Message-ID: after each
  156.           filename), LLLL_n (only send articles generated within _n hops of
  157.           here; 0 is the default value for _n), mmmm (transmit only
  158.           moderated groups), uuuu (transmit only unmoderated groups).
  159.           There are other obsolete ones.

  161.           The _t_r_a_n_s_m_i_s_s_i_o_n _c_o_m_m_a_n_d is executed by the shell with the
  162.           article to be transmitted as the standard input.  The
  163.           default is `uux - -z -r _s_y_s_n_a_m_e!rnews' for a command; the
  164.           PATH searched includes /usr/lib/newsbin/relay, so that the
  165.           commands described in _n_e_w_s_m_a_i_l(8) are available as
  166.           alternatives to _u_u_x.  If one of the _f_l_a_g_s has caused this
  167.           field to be taken as a filename, the default is
  168.           /usr/spool/news/out.going/_s_y_s_n_a_m_e/togo; if a filename is
  169.           given but it does not start with `/', it is assumed to be
  170.           relative to the /usr/spool/news/out.going directory.
